2013 BAFTAs opens tonight : Stars head to London

Film industry flocks to London BAFTAs

This year's BAFTA ceremony, held in London at the Royal Opera House will welcome a host of stars and icons for a night of British red carpet treatment.

With actors such as Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lawrence and Daniel Day-Lewis competing in Best Actor and Best Director categories, like any other year, it's going to be a difficult choice amongst this list of nominees.

Ben Affleck has made a career comeback with his highly acclaimed political thriller 'Argo', which has won accolades in the U.S ahead of this year's Oscars. The epic return of Bond in 'Skyfall' will also be part of the competition this year. Judi Dench and Javier Bardiem will compete for actor categories after making Bond history, starring in the most successful film of the franchise.

Controversial directors including Kathryn Bigelow, Quentin Tarantino and Ang Lee will also compete. After much debate around Tarantino's 'Django Unchained', and a political fallout following the release of 'Zero Dark Thirty', this year's Best Director will be closely watched ahead of the Oscars.

Who do you want to win tonight?
